New Toy!

Today we went to the pet shop just to have a look and we saw this.

I know most dogs already have one and we used to have one, in fact, but since we didn't have one, we just HAD to get it. And Jock LOVES it! I'll try and put some pictures up and maybe a video tomorrow.

WARNING: CRAZY WHEN WET

Lucy just loves running around in the rain.

New Tag!

Jock is the master of losing tags. We'll get a new tag, then two weeks later we'll look at a photo of him and think 'hang on, there's no tag, JOCK!!!' and so we go out to double check and yep, it's gone. So we go in and get a new one.
Jock's latest tag was lost within two days. TWO DAYS! It was one of those ones that unscrew and there's a piece of paper inside with the information on it. He had somehow screwed off the bottom of it and it fell off! So he just had the top of it.
Lucy somehow just doesn't lose tags. She's had hers for two YEARS!
But Jock has a nice new one now. With the phone number neatly on the back.

Fingers crossed he doesn't lose it within a week!

Vet Check

Today we went to the local vet to give the dogs a general check-up. By far this is the worst time of year for our dogs. It's funny, Lucy just lounges around with not a care in the world and Jock's standing there freaking out. I think it's because he once had to get a lump off from his butt so he always worries they're going to fiddle around with his butt.
So first up we got them into the car.

Next up came the waiting in the front.

Then came the weighing...
Jock was 23.6kg

 and Lucy was... HOLY COW 32.3kg?!?!?! She's a right heifer!

And a little Cairn Terrier came along to say hello.

And then we went into the check-up room.
Lucy 
Good teeth, ears, a slight heart murmer, overweight (over a kilo more than last year), had her worming tablets (with a bit of effort) and innoculations. Generally healthy but overweight. ;)
Jock
Good teeth, ears, heart, slightly underweight (we found a young paralasis tick on him the other day so it isn't that surprising), had his worming tablets and innoculations. Very healthy overall. :)
So overall the dogs are great! Hopefully they stay that way.

Crazy Tongue

Kelpies are known for their long tongues.

And since Jock has kelpie in him

It's so big he can't contain it all the time,

he loses control over it,

He even used to slap it against the glass door to get attention when he was younger.



But hey, at least his ears aren't as long as Zimmie's.

New Camera Incoming!

Today we ordered a camera! We got it from the internet (because it was half the price of the one in the local store) and it is a Fujifilm F550EXR. Since I do a lot of one-handed shooting I needed a compact camera. It has 16 mega-pixels and 15x optical zoom, while my current camera has 12 mega-pixels and 3x optical zoom. BIG difference. It should arrive next week so I am very excited!
And speaking of cameras, I just love this picture of Lucy. I had to share it!

Brown Butt

Yesterday I only just noticed that Jocks fur around his butt has turned brown.

It's really weird... We have no idea why.

Red Dog

We decided today that we would go to see 'Red Dog' at the movies.

And it was actually really good. It's about an Australian Kelpie (that's red by the way). I won't give too much away, but I will say that it's a good movie.

The Jumps

I have been trying for a while to get some good pictures of Jock jumping, and I have finally got some:

The jumps aren't great and the pictures aren't brilliant, but at least I have some pretty cool pictures of him. Since he's no professional, I had to make a jump out of two chairs and a cobweb brush :)

Bath Time!!!

Whoa, Jock. You really need a bath my friend. I mean, pewwwy! You are stinkeh.
Come on, have a wash. You know ya wanna... No seriously Jock, come here RIGHT NOW. Ok, ok, I know you hate having a wash, but you don't have to completely ignore me when I call your for washtime.
It's ok Jock, it'll be ok. It's not like your going to die. Now with that sorted, time to wash you...
