Kiba

Some family came today. And they brought their puppy, Kiba!

He's an 18 month old bitzer (we think he's pointer, staffy, kelpie and cattle dog) and he is really energetic. When he got here, he went straight to the goat pen...

...and got in!

He was nearly flying, he was so fast! It was hard to get a decent shot of it. The goats were fine, though. After that we put them in the bottom pen so he couldn't get in. He just wouldn't leave them alone! He would run up and down the fence, trying to get back in and have some more fun!

Then he got bored and posed a little bit.

Then we played a bit of fetch with him. He was like a rocket going to get the stick, but Jock was telling him off most of the time saying who was boss.

His ears never seemed to stay right. We'd fix them up, then right after that they would flop back over again. It was like they were destined to be that way.

Lucy liked him so much she was trying to hump him.

After all of that he was thirsty.

Kiba really was great fun to have over.

Walkies!

We went for a good old walk this morning. Dusty was nearly asleep when we left and by the time we got back he was absolutely exhausted.

Jock had collected a good pile of sticks...

And Lucy was just happy to get some excersise.

We plan on doing this walk every morning now that we know Dusty can do it, even if he did try and have a sleep at the top of the lane! :D

First Visit to the Vet

Dusty went to the vets today. I forgot to take my camera, but it was pretty interesting I can tell you. We walked in and he was weighed. Mum had guessed he would be about 2.4kg, and I had guessed about 3kg. He was 2.47kg. I mean, that's pretty accurate if you ask me. He had his tablets and his de-worm and de-flea stuff. The vet said he was very healthy and was very calm. She should have seen him earlier this morning!

Crazy. Just crazy. But cute... How can you resist?

He needs to go back to the vets on the 27th October for his needles. Hopefully he'll behave like he did today then!
Later tonight as Dusty was about to go to the toilet, we saw a Tawny Frogmouth! He flew off before I could get my camera out, but it was still pretty cool for me. He had been thrashing around in the room of the porch and he bumped into something and fell down. He was just sitting there, so it was pretty cool. He was alright though.
Jock has been a bit annoyed with Dusty I think. Whatever Dusty does, he'll growl and bark at him, but Lucy is like, 'Yeah, you can chew my neck and lick off all the cow-pat. I don't mind.'
Jock and Lucy are being the best about there being a new puppy and all.

It's funny because that is the only picture I have of all three of them so far. :P

Going Well

Everything with Dusty is going very well. He is nearly toilet trained, only sometimes having accidents at night when we can't take him out so often. He has already learnt how to sit, and is so close to learning shake paw. I think that is really smart.
I think he is getting a bit lighter very slowly, because his back is changing colour.

First Day

Today

Dusty is getting very good on the lead, so morning walks with 'the big dogs' shouldn't be far off.

Hey, Guess What?

I've got a PUPPY!!! He's a grizzle and tan Border Terrier and his name is Dusty, so he's pretty much just what I wanted. He is just the cutest puppy ever!

He has fallen in love with Lucy and I think he thinks she is his mum. Lucy and Dusty pretty much follow each other everywhere so far. But with Jock he isn't so sure. Not aggressive or anything, but Jock and Dusty aren't too sure with each other.

He was so energetic earlier but now he's really struggling to be awake. He is just the sweetest little dog! I can't wait for more time with him tomorrow!

New Collar

We went to the pet shop today and got Jock a nice new collar.

We think blue really suits a black coat, or red but this one shines in the dark. We are going to write on our details on the collar so he is less likely to lose them. Hopefully this one lasts him a while!

Rolling Around in the Grass

It seems to be so entertaining to dogs, doesn't it?

Shake it, Jock!

Dogs are the funniest animals!

NOOO!!!

Guess what?!?! Jock has lost his tag!!!! AND his collar!!!!

I came home and the first thing I noticed was that Jock's collar was missing. Jock you seriously have to get out of that habit!!! And I have looked in so many places but it's hard to find a collar on 40acres, so I guess we'll have to get him a new collar and a new tag. Ugh. Maybe we should just write the information on the collar. Then he's less likely to lose it.

Yay! I'ts Arrived!

Yesterday my new camera arrived! I would have taken some good pictures with it then but it only finished charging after dark. But here are a few of my favorites of the dogs.

Lucy is very photogenic! I'll try and get some good pictures of Jock with his new toy soon. I am still trying out all the different settings so it will take some getting used to.
